Discovering the Mekong River is a once in a lifetime experience…
The Mekong River cruise is a once in a life time experience. You will be taken back in time as you sail through both Vietnam and Cambodia on your boutique floating hotel.
You will be immersed in the culture with options such as a silk village experience, Tuk Tuk, and trishaw rides, visit palaces and local villages, stroll through local markets, and visit Buddhist temples.
In Tan Chau, enjoy a sampan boat ride and bring your binoculars to spot the 70 species of birds, along with lush greenery and water lilies.
In Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, you can visit the stunning Silver Pagoda and National Museum and later the notorious Killing Fields and Genocide Museum.
Land extension options include: Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Siem Reap, Hanoi, and Ha Long Bay. Visas will be required for this adventure.
Dry season is November through April. The rivers are calmer, fruit is the ripest, and bird watching is at its peak. This is the best time for biking and hiking. The wet season is May through October. This is the best time to enjoy lush greenery and scenic views. Our Mekong River itinerary sails from August to April each year.

AmaWaterways will offer this new river cruising location starting in April 2025. The river cruises start either from Cartagena or Barranquilla, Colombia.
While in Cartagena, visit the San Felipe Castle- a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you can also visit the Gold Museum and the Caribbean Naval Museum.
Pre- and post-cruise land extensions include 3 nights in Medellin, Colombia or 3 nights in Panama City, Panama. A Short flight is required after the land tour so that you can embark the ship.
The Panama City land extension includes a cruise through the Panama Canal with lunch at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort and a private tour of the Miraflores Visitor Center.
